Medical Skin Care
It is never too early, or too late to start giving your skin the attention and care it deserves. In Colorado we love the outdoors, so it is important to protect your skin from the environmental damage that is more significant at high altitude and with all of our sunny days. Daily sunscreen is essential and should be applied one hour before going outdoors and reapplied every two hours if you are going to stay out. There is really nothing more important than your sunscreen, so PLEASE don’t forget it! There are so many elegant and comprehensive products (including vitamins, peptides, and other goodies to further protect your skin) that you are sure to find one you will love.
While day is all about protection, night is all about repair. Youthful skin has a nice, thick, deep layer that provides elasticity, and a thinner outer layer that is smooth, even, and reflects light making it look hydrated and healthy. As we age, the deeper layer thins, and the outer layer thickens significantly making the skin look more uneven, dull, dehydrated, speckled with irregular colors, and eventually wrinkled. Medical grade skin care products can reverse these changes by stimulating collagen regrowth, exfoliating the outer layers, and holding in moisture for more radiant skin that looks healthy and bright.
A comprehensive skin care regime may add a maximum of a few minutes to your day, and when compared to surgical procedures the price point is easy to justify. It breaks our hearts when we hear “I bought Retin A from my dermatologist. I think it’s in a drawer somewhere.” It is time to get started because when your friends tell you how beautiful your skin looks, it feels great!
