A breast lift, or mastopexy, raises the nipple position, reshapes breast tissue, and removes excess skin to create a more youthful, balanced contour. Depending on the amount of excess skin removed, the breasts may appear slightly—or sometimes significantly—smaller after the procedure. If needed, small amounts of tissue can also be removed to improve symmetry or achieve the ideal breast size.

The type of lift depends on how much reshaping is needed. For minimal lifting, a lollipop-shaped scar (around the areola and down the center of the breast) is common. For more extensive lifting, an anchor-shaped scar (which includes a horizontal scar under the breast) may be required.

One important thing to keep in mind is that while the goal of a breast lift is to create a beautiful, proportional shape, it doesn’t add volume. If you want to increase size or fullness, we can discuss combining the lift with implants or even fat transfer during your consultation.
