ThermiTight allows for direct heating of the deepest layers of the skin, using radiofrequency, which has been shown to be a superior method of skin tightening. Technological advancements that allow for close monitoring of temperatures underneath and at the surface of the skin have also helped to achieve improved results and maximal safety.
ThermiTight is a minimally invasive procedure, which can be done very comfortably in the office. This procedure can also be combined with additional procedures including small amount of liposuction under the chin or neck, laser rejuvenation, upper blepharoplasty, and injectable fillers.
This procedure is best suited for patients who are not quite ready for a facelift, but would like to see improved definition of their jawline. Because the underlying muscles are not addressed (a main component of a face and neck lift), one needs to consider all options and decide which is the best choice for this time in your life. Thermi can also be used after a facelift to further improve or maintain results in the neck or jawline. Mild skin laxity in other areas of the body that are not significant enough to require surgery may also be treated with TherimiTight, including arms, abdomen, and above the knees.
Expect mild swelling for the first few weeks, and mild tenderness that can last a couple of months. Signs of tightening can be seen as early as 2-3 months, and should continue to improve for several months after that. Because this technology is fairly new, it’s difficult to comment on how long the results may last, but early patients have shown results to last over 2 years.
